FN APAC Regional Seminar 2026 - Celebrating 40 Years of FN in Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur, 23 April 2026 - FN Herstal commemorated a significant milestone in its global history with the FN APAC Regional Seminar 2026, marking 40 years of partnership and operational presence in Malaysia. Held in Kuala Lumpur, the regional gathering reinforced FN’s enduring commitment to the Asia-Pacific market and highlighted four decades of trusted collaboration with Malaysia’s defence and security sector.


The high-level seminar brought together senior FN leadership, regional partners, distributors, and key defence industry stakeholders from across the Asia-Pacific region, reaffirming FN’s position as a global leader in advanced defence solutions and military innovation.

Delegates from 9 countries — Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Brunei, South Korea, Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand, and the Philippines — convened for the three-day event, reflecting the growing strategic importance of regional defence cooperation and technological advancement.


Leading the FN delegation were Julien Compère, Chief Executive Officer of the FN Browning Group, and Nicolas de Gottal, Vice President of Global Sales & Marketing at FN Herstal, whose presence underscored the significance of the occasion and FN’s long-term investment in the region.

Hosted at Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur at KL Midtown on 23 April, the FN APAC Regional Seminar 2026 welcomed partners from across the region for meaningful dialogue and knowledge sharing.

The seminar programme featured strategic briefings, technical presentations, capability showcases, and live product demonstrations, focusing on innovation, operational readiness, and the evolving future of defence technology in Asia-Pacific. The event served as a critical platform for strengthening partnerships, exchanging expertise, and aligning on shared strategic priorities.


A key highlight of the seminar was the 40 Years of FN in Malaysia Commemorative Reception, graciously hosted by H.E. Peter Van Acker, Ambassador of Belgium to Malaysia, at his official residence in Kuala Lumpur. The exclusive evening brought together diplomatic representatives, senior FN leadership, Super Fortress, and regional FN partners in celebration of four decades of trusted partnership and collaboration in Malaysia.

The reception was honoured by the attendance of Lieutenant-General Datuk Mohamad Suria Mohamad Saad, Deputy Chief of Army of Malaysia, whose presence was deeply appreciated and reflected the strength of FN’s longstanding relationship with Malaysia’s defence community.


The occasion also featured keynote addresses by H.E. Peter Van Acker, Julien Compère, and Lt Gen Dato’ Mohamad Suria, underscoring the enduring strategic ties between Malaysia and Belgium, and the continued importance of collaboration in advancing regional defence capability.
